No more Gravatar?

It seems the Gravatar site is down - I have no idea if this is temporary or permanent. I can’t seem to find any mention of it on any other sites so I’m guessing it’s DNS/server/meteor related.
Maybe my demands for people to signup overloaded them with traffic … ?
Or maybe not.
After reading a few posts on the subject it seems that for whatever reason the owner of ‘gravatar.com’ didn’t renew the domain name - I’ve replaced http://www.gravatar.com with http://64.124.231.223 in the Gravatar Movable Type plug-in and everything seems fine for now.
Apparently Gravatars will be OK.

Hi Timmargh, Sorry to hear that you liked the Gravatar site and they took it off the webspace. I know how you feel about certain sites disappearing, they took off the Cult website from the BBC Homepage. I miss watching all my favourite classic TV clips. I hope they never pull Ouch off the web, if they do, I would kick up a massive protest outside Television Centre.
As you might of guessed I totally love the website and have hinted I want to work for them!
