The more trailers and clips I saw of this film the more excited and childlike I got about it. I love it when filmmakers manage to put to so much human-like character into something non-human and this film is… - “Are you disabled?” “Yes.” “Prove it!”

I’ve always liked listening to music and have bought far too many CDs for my own good, but for far too long a period it’s mostly been a background thing that I’ve barely noticed. These past couple of months, though, I’ve really started listening again and have made an effort to find some new stuff. - In Bruges

I saw this at my usual cinema haunt (Empire cinema in Rubery) and I really enjoyed it — a black comedy with great characters, a brilliant script and a superbly chosen soundtrack. All the leads were excellent and Colin Farrell was especially moving. - Films to see

One pleasing side effect of my recent upgrade in mobility is the increase in cinema visits. It was always possible before but, as with most things, making it easier makes it more desirable. - Diary of the Dead

I guess the fact that me and my mate were the only ones in to see this film (at least until two women turned up) should’ve been a bit of a clue as to how good this film was or wasn’t going to be. That said, it wasn’t as bad as I was expecting although I’m not what you’d call a fan of zombie films. - I Am Legend, AvP: Requiem, Cloverfield, Jumper

Well, thankfully 2007’s out of the way and we can all get on with making 2008 a decent year. I only have one rule for everyone this year: no-one is allowed to die. Seriously. If anyone I care about dies during 2008 then I’ll fucking kill them. - A kettle! A DVD! A CD!

Most of use have done it: we’ve gotten so emotionally involved in a film that it’s lead to the hypothalamus telling the parasympathetic branch of the autonomic system to activate nicotinic and muscarinic receptors stimulating the lacrimal gland to produce a mixture of water, mucin, lipids, lysozyme, lactoferrin, lipocalin, lacritin, immunoglobulins, glucose, urea, sodium, and potassium. - “The name’s Bourne. Jason Bourne.”

I’ve been unhappy with this place for a while. I’m chuffed with the way it looks and is laid out (ignoring the fact that Internet Explorer is a pile of shit and gets it wrong) but I always feel like the posts are haphazard and cluttered. - This is going to take a while …

I’ve finally started encoding my DVDs onto my iMac so I can watch stuff in bed with the power of Front Row and AirClick and what better place to start than with my favourite films of the moment: The Lord of the Rings trilogy. - 20 things you didn’t know about me

I saw a topic like this on a forum I drop into occasionally, so I thought I’d steal the idea and tell you all more about me than you ever wanted to know. Those of you who know me outside of The Matrix (i.e. in the real world) will no doubt know some, if not all, of these … but it’s been really hard to even come with twenty! - The Ouch Podcast

I’ve mentioned my new bed on more than one occasion on here (what do you mean I haven’t shut up about it?) so I thought it was time to take a few pictures to show you its loveliness. Unfortunately, because of its size and where it is in my room (i.e. the middle) I couldn’t get back far enough to get it all in one frame, and my attempts at a panoramic shot failed miserably. So, what’s a man to do? Why, of course: video it! - Delicious Library

This is an excellent adventure game brought to us by LucasArts, the same people who gave us the superb Monkey Island series, the bizarre Day Of The Tentacle and the brilliantly weird Sam ‘n’ Max to name but a few. - The Shawshank Redemption

This film is without a doubt my favourite - it’s just one of those films you can watch over and over again … and I often do. For those of you who haven’t seen it: it’s the story of Andy Dufresne (played by Tim Robbins), a banker, who gets tried and convicted for the murder of his wife and her lover - he protests his innocence, naturally, but gets two life sentences to be served back-to-back in Shawshank prison.
