There are a few things you need to know so you can understand my need for this: I am quite forgetful; other people use my Mac quite often; and I have a few Automator workflows (saved as applications) that I run at regular times for various tasks. - A mild annoyance

I’m still loving the MacBook and have set about having fun with Proxi, as you can see from the previous entry, but I have come across something slightly annoying. - Launch and quit applications on another machine via AirPort using Proxi

With the acquisition of my shiny new MacBook I set about making sure I could access everything on my iMac (which is in the bedroom) from wherever I happen to be laptopping it up (the lounge, conservatory, kitchen, Erica Campbell’s bed). - Delay start-up items to make them quicker

I don’t know about you, but whenever I start/restart my Mac I hate the way that, when it’s got to the desktop, it tries to launch all the start-up items at the same time and so your hard-drive is whirring like mad, hopping back and forth and splitting its time between each app. - Put your Mac to sleep by sending a text message

Do you ever go out shopping, to the pub or to the beauty clinic for your fortnightly waxing session and forget to put your Mac to sleep? I know I do, so I thought of a way to do it by sending a text message from my mobile/cell phone - well, technically we’re not going to be sending a text (SMS) message, rather a multimedia (MMS) message.
